Q: What is GranSun PBX?

A: GranSun PBX is a hosted VoIP (Voice over IP) phone system that provides businesses with enterprise-level calling features, multi-tenant support, and intuitive management tools through a secure web interface.


Q: We have a new employee. Can you please update extension 109 from Jane Doe to John Doe and set the email to johndoe@johninc.com?

A: Certainly. To update the user information for an extension:

Navigate to the appropriate tenant in the system.

Go to the Extensions tab.

Locate and select extension 109.

Update the name and email address fields with the new employee’s details.

Click Save to apply the changes.

Ask the user to reset the phone by unplugging the Ethernet cable (located near the circular pinhole), waiting for the screen to go completely black, and then plugging it back in.


Q: Can I forward calls to my mobile phone?

A: Yes. Go to the Extension Settings, enable Call Forwarding, and enter your mobile number. You can choose to forward on busy, no answer, or always.


Q: What is a Dial Group and how do I use it?

A: A Dial Group (also called a Ring Group) allows multiple extensions to ring at once or in sequence. It's used for departments like Sales or Support. Set it up under Dial Groups, and assign the strategy (ringall, hunt, etc.).


Q: Can I use my softphone or mobile app with GranSun PBX?

A: Yes. Use compatible apps like Communicator GO, You'll need:

Username and password

Server (PBX) IP or domain

These are provided under the Extension Details.


Q: How do I view call logs or reports?

A: Go to Reports > CDR (Call Detail Records) Use filters like Date, Caller, Destination, Duration, etc. Export results to CSV if needed


Q: What happens if a user doesn't answer a call?

A: Depending on the system configuration, the call may:

Forward to voicemail, Route to another extension or ring group, Go to a fallback destination (e.g., operator or external number) Admins can change this in the Extension settings under “Call Forwarding” or “Voicemail”.
